| 浄土真宗の寺院の本堂。宗教的な儀式のための空間であると同時に、周辺住民の集いの場となることが期待されていたため、ガランドウの伽藍をつくることになった。壁と屋根を曖昧につなぐ単純な身振りの形態として階段状のピラミッド型を採用し、厚さ６ミリのコールテン鋼を現場で溶接して水密を取った。全体にまんべんなく穿った開口部が奥まで光を運んで昼間の利用時の利便性を高める一方、儀式を執り行う際には内側に設けたパネルによって調光し、やわらかに漏れる光に満たされた静かな空間へと変わるよう配慮した。 |
| The main hall of the temple of Pure Land Buddhism.A hollow cathedral was built to meet the needs of creating not only a space for religious ceremonies but also a gathering space for the neighbors.A stair step patterned pyramid shape was used to connect the wall and the roof in a very simple and ambiguous manner. 6mm-thick cor-ten steel panels were welded at the site, to protect the building against water leakage and intrusion.With numerous bored openings distributed evenly around, it enabled the sunlight to reach deep into the space hence improving the convenience for daytime use. During the ceremony, the panels set inside would control the light, creating a more quiet space filled with soft pouring lights. |
